Ingredients

For the Apple Cider Cookies

  • 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
  • ¾ cup unsalted butter softened
  • ½ cup light brown sugar packed
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • cup apple cider reduced to 2 tbsp

For the Apple Cider Glaze

  • 2 cups powdered sugar sifted
  • 3 tablespoon apple cider
  • 2 tablespoon butter melted
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon

Optional; Spiced Sugar Topping

  • 2 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • Pinch nutmeg

Instructions

  • Reduce Cider: Simmer apple cider in a saucepan for about 10 minutes until reduced to 2 tablespoons, then cool completely.
  • Mix Dry: Whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves in a bowl.
  • Cream Butter: Beat butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg, vanilla, and cider reduction.
  • Combine & Bake: Stir in dry ingredients until just combined. Drop dough by spoonfuls on parchment paper and bake at 350°F for 10–12 minutes.
  • Glaze: Mix powdered sugar, apple cider, butter, and cinnamon. Drizzle over cooled cookies.
