Cobbler Topping

  • 1 ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 6 tablespoon butter cold, unsalted, cubed
  • cup milk whole milk
  • 1 egg large, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon coarse sugar for sprinkling on top

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Butter a 9-inch baking dish.
  • Mix mulberries with filling ingredients.
  • Let the berry mix sit for 10 mins.
  • Combine dry topping ingredients.
  • Cut in cold butter until crumbly.
  • Add milk and egg; mix gently.
  • Spoon topping over mulberries.
  • Sprinkle coarse sugar on top.
  • Bake for 35–40 minutes.
  • Cool for 15 minutes.
  • Serve warm with ice cream.
