  • 1 10-inch angel food cake torn into bite-sized pieces
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened to room temperature
  • 1 cup powdered sugar for sweetening cream cheese layer
  • 8 oz Cool Whip thawed and divided
  • 2 boxes (3.4 oz each) instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 3 cups cold whole milk helps pudding set properly
  • 1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling or 2 cups sweetened blueberries
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract optional, adds rich flavor
  • 1 handful fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Beat softened cream cheese with powdered sugar until fluffy; fold in half the Cool Whip.
  • Whisk pudding mix with cold milk until thick; fold into cream cheese mixture.
  • Layer half of the torn angel food cake in a 9x13 dish, top with half of the pudding mixture, repeat layers.
  • Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  • Top with cherry pie filling and remaining Cool Whip; garnish with mint before serving.
