Ingredients

For the Sauce:

  • 1 lb Ground beef 80/20 blend recommended
  • 1 Onion Medium, finely diced
  • 2 Carrots Finely diced
  • 2 Celery stalks Finely diced
  • 4 cloves Garlic Minced
  • 2 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 28 oz Crushed tomatoes 1 large can
  • 2 tablespoon Tomato paste
  • 0.5 cup Red wine Optional, or use beef broth
  • 2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon Dried oregano
  • 1 Bay leaf
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 0.25 teaspoon Red pepper flakes Optional

For the Pasta:

  • 1 lb Penne pasta Or your preferred shape
  • 3 cups Beef broth
  • 1 cup Water

For Serving:

  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese Freshly grated
  • 0.25 cup Basil leaves Fresh, chopped
  • Olive oil Extra, for drizzling

Instructions

  • Dice vegetables
  • Sauté vegetables in oil
  • Brown the ground beef
  • Stir in tomato paste and wine
  • Add tomatoes and seasoning
  • Add pasta, broth, and water
  • Pressure cook on high for 5 min
  • Natural release 10 minutes
  • Stir and serve with toppings
