Ingredients

  • 1 whole chicken frozen, 3–4 pounds
  • 1 cup chicken broth or water
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon salt or to taste
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon dried sage
  • 1 whole lemon sliced (optional)
  • 2 leaves bay leaves optional

Instructions

  • Remove packaging and rinse frozen chicken.
  • Add broth and trivet to Instant Pot.
  • Mix seasonings and rub all over chicken.
  • Place chicken breast-side up on trivet.
  • Add optional lemon slices and bay leaves.
  • Seal lid and pressure cook for 90 minutes.
  • Allow 15-minute natural pressure release.
  • Carefully remove chicken and check temp (165°F).
  • Optional: Broil chicken 3–5 minutes for crispy skin.
  • Let rest 5 minutes before carving.
