  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Glaze (Optional)

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2-3 tablespoon lemon juice adjust for consistency
  • ½ teaspoon dried lavender finely ground
  • 1-2 drops food coloring optional, for a soft purple hue

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • Mix flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl.
  • In a separate bowl, cream butter and both sugars until fluffy.
  • Add egg, vanilla, lemon juice, and zest-lavender mixture; mix until combined.
  • Gradually blend dry ingredients into wet mixture; chill dough for 30 minutes.
  • Roll dough into balls, flatten slightly, and place on baking sheet.
  • Bake 10–12 minutes until edges are lightly golden; cool on rack.
  • (Optional) Mix glaze ingredients; drizzle or dip cooled cookies, then let set.
  • Store cookies in airtight container; flavors develop over time.
