  • 1 pound Low moisture mozzarella cheese Block, not fresh
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour For first coating
  • 3 large Eggs For egg wash
  • 2 tablespoons Milk Mixed with eggs
  • 2 cups Italian breadcrumbs For coating
  • 0.5 cup Panko breadcrumbs Adds extra crunch
  • 0.5 cup Grated Parmesan cheese For flavor
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder Adds depth
  • 1 teaspoon Dried oregano Adds Italian flavor
  • 0.5 teaspoon Paprika Adds color and flavor
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt Seasoning
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper Adds mild heat
  • 4 cups Vegetable oil For frying
  • Marinara sauce For dipping

Instructions

  • Cut mozzarella into sticks and freeze for 2 hours.
  • Set up three bowls for flour, egg wash, and breadcrumb coating.
  • Double coat sticks in flour, egg, and breadcrumbs. Freeze again for 30 minutes.
  • Heat oil to 350°F and fry 3–4 sticks at a time for 1–2 minutes until golden.
  • Drain on paper towels and cool for 2–3 minutes before serving.
