Ingredients

For Cookie Dough

  • 2.25 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 0.75 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.75 cup brown sugar packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips optional

For Salted Caramel Swirl

  • 0.5 cup caramel sauce homemade or store-bought
  • 2 tablespoon heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt flakes

Instructions

  • Set oven to 375°F (190°C) and line baking sheets.
  • Whisk flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Beat butter and sugars until fluffy.
  • Mix in eggs one at a time, then vanilla.
  • Slowly add dry mix until just combined.
  • Warm caramel with cream, cool, then swirl half into dough.
  • Drop tablespoon-sized scoops onto baking sheets.
  • Drizzle caramel, sprinkle sea salt, bake 9–11 minutes.
  • Rest 5 minutes on sheet, then move to rack.
