Ingredients

Pizza Dough

  • 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour or bread flour for chewier crust
  • 1 packet instant yeast (2 ¼ teaspoons)
  • 1 ½ cups warm water about 110°F
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil divided
  • 1 tablespoon honey or sugar
  • 2 teaspoons salt

Toppings

  • 1 cup tomato sauce homemade or store-bought
  • 16 ounces fresh mozzarella cheese sliced or torn
  • 2–3 cups cherry tomatoes halved
  • 1 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil for drizzling
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Sea salt and black pepper to taste
  • Red pepper flakes optional
  • Grated Parmesan cheese optional, for topping

Instructions

  • Mix and activate yeast with warm water and honey
  • Add flour, oil, and salt; knead until smooth
  • Let dough rise until doubled, about 1 hour
  • Preheat oven to 475°F with sheet pan inside
  • Stretch dough into oiled sheet pan
  • Brush with olive oil and par-bake 7–8 minutes
  • Spread tomato sauce and add toppings
  • Bake 12–15 minutes until golden and bubbly
  • Top with basil and drizzle olive oil
  • Slice and serve hot
