Ingredients

  • 8–10 medium fresh banana peppers or jarred peppers
  • 1 pound ground Italian sausage or ground turkey
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 0.5 cup Parmesan cheese grated
  • 1 medium onion finely diced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 0.25 cup breadcrumbs fresh
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil divided
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning dried
  • 0.5 teaspoon paprika
  • salt & pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoon fresh parsley chopped
  • extra cheese, red pepper flakes, herbs optional garnish

Instructions

  • Wash, dry, halve, and deseed banana peppers.
  • Brush peppers with olive oil, salt, and pepper.
  • Sauté onion in olive oil until soft.
  • Add garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Add sausage and cook until fully browned.
  • Combine cooked meat, cream cheese, and mozzarella in mixing bowl.
  • Fill each pepper with the cheese and meat mixture.
  • Sprinkle stuffed peppers with Parmesan and breadcrumbs.
  • Bake at 375°F for 20–25 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  • Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
